COERR Mae Sot and Kanchanaburi Organized Livelihood Skills Training for Vulnerable People

   During April 2022, COERR Mae Sot organized organic agriculture training in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, Tak Province, on April 11, 2022. There were 53 farmers participating, consisting of 31 females and 22 males. This training is a combination of wisdom gained from natural and work experience and impart wisdom and knowledge from one generation to the next for conservation and sustainability purposes.

   During April 19-20, 2022, a vocational training in making flower pots from used towels was conducted. The training aimed at making quality products and generating future income. There were 100 youth including 65 females and 35 males participating.

   In Ban Nupo Temporary Shelter in Umphang District of Tak Province, a Developing Peer Support Activity for Extremely Vulnerable Individuals (EVIs) was held during April 19-22, 2022 to make liquid dish washing, liquid hand soap, liquid detergent and fabric softener which were easily produced with low cost and non-chemicals. These Extremely Vulnerable Individuals made these products for their own use and gave surplus to others such as the disabled and elderly. This activity enabled them to realize their own capacity and value as they were able to help other less fortunate. There were 200 participants of 165 females and 35 males.

   On April 18, at Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Ratchaburi Province’s Suan Phueng District, COERR Kanchanaburi organized training in producing liquid hand wash for own use and for distribution to the needy vulnerable who were not able to join the training, such as the disabled. Surplus would be sold in the market to gain some income for future activities.

   In Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter, Kanchanaburi Province’s Sangkhlaburi District, 50 youths were trained about technique of making their own tie-die shirts with their own design that gave them the most satisfaction.
